Sharepoint database size

Asked By: Santosh    Date: Dec 28    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1099

I have a client with a Sharepoint site that's getting lots of errors -
like one or more per minute in the application logs. I'm working on the
cause which seems to be with the database not finding pieces. Their
main database file (from the backup) is 100gb, which seems huge to me
for the amount of data I see. I was curious if maybe the database is
corrupted and that would cause it to be so large? Was thinking about
running repair on it but would like to run from a backup server in case
it has problems

Question number one: what are the errors?

have you tried backing up that site  and putting it on its own DB? I do
not think the DB size  has anything to do with it. I have a single site
collection that is bigger than that and we do not have problems. I
would backup  the site and try to restore it somewhere else and check
to see if that site is still giving you problems. You can also view
the backup log and see if there any errors  there.
