Sharepoint customization

Can anybody tell us how to hide items in home page
depending upon the portal site group role. (reader,
contributor..etc)

I want to hide link that is
add new event
add new announcement
add new link
add new document etc.. for the portal/site group role.

If anyone done this please share the it.

I would say, If those users are readers they will not have the links
when they log on to the portal.
