SharePoint Connections Conference - Vegas?

Asked By: Mathew    Date: May 12    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 889

Has anyone attended the SharePoint Connections conference in Vegas? I
am trying to assess whether this would be valuable, meaning I would
actually take away a good amount of learning and knowledge, or more of
just high level information tidbits and marketing. Any information or
experiences would be much appreciated!

I went last november and found it to be a good  conference. Conferences
though don't teach you specifically HOW to do something. What they're really
good at is providing insights into what can be done and networking with
other people working in the field. Even if the networking just consists of
chatting about a problem at lunch and hearing how other people are solving
or struggling with it can be helpful because it's looking outside the box of
your own workplace.

I will be doing an 8hr pre-conference on deployment best practices
there, for those of you going.

I am building a large server farm LIVE to include an extranet, zones,
policies, search scaling, multiple WFEs, etc.
