SharePoint Configuration Wizard failure after hotfix/update

Asked By: Ladonna Aguirre         Date: Dec 15, 2009      Category: MOSS      Views: 357

I recently applied a hotfix to my MOSS installation. No issues there. In the
hotfix instructions it stated that I would need to run the configuration wizard
once complete. I did so, and it failed. It was during stage 8 of the wizard
process, creating sample data. It said that it couldn't because there is
already an application using IIS at port 80 (I won't post the full link.) I
don't need sample data, as there is already real data. Has anyone else run into
something like this? If so, how do you get around it. Basically, how do you
run the configuration wizard when it is not a new installation, but an existing
one, and not run into error when the wizard tries to create a new installation?
