SharePoint Configuration Wizard Question

Asked By: Harsha    Date: Jan 09    Category: Sharepoint 2010    Views: 790

I have a question. This has always perplexed me. Perhaps I am reading
too much into the message but I wanted to ask to make sure.

After you have installed a SharePoint patch you have to run the
Configuration Wizard. In a medium farm environment, I know you have to
do that all servers in the farm. But what confuses me a little bit is
the message that says to 'start the wizard and come back to the server
running central administration and press ok.' The message doesn't say
if you are supposed to come back to the first server AFTER the wizard
has completed on the other servers or if it needs to just run and/or
complete on the first server first or all of them can run at the same

I hope this make sense. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I
tried googling my question but I didn't get an exact answer as to what I
was asking.

I thought so but I just kept reading the message and I was
reading too much in it. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. This list is so
helpful. I really appreciate it.

The only thing I would add is that its normally assumed that the first server
you start the wizard on should be the server hosting CA.
