Sharepoint Backups

I have created a script to do full backups and store them on a NAS
server. What are the ramifications if I prune jobs off of disk. Again
they are full backups.

Microsoft's says to move all content in that directory, including the
.xml file. You can prune directories, but they will still show in the
.xml file.

Now, if you try to modify the .xml file, you could hose all of your
existing backups. I have pruned the directories, but never, never,
modify the .xml...
