Sharepoint Automatic refresh after update

Has anyone noticed that whenever you save a "new" Word document to a
Sharepoint doclib, the Sharepoint browser refresh itself automatically
and show the new document.

Someone told me that Word a COM component to ommunicate to Sharepoint.
Does anyone know how this is done ?
