Sharepoint Anti-Virus

Asked By: Colin    Date: Oct 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1204

We are going to be deploying SharePoint for our Company intranet, and it was
recommended to incorporate Norton Antivirus for SharePoint. Im not familiar

1) How does it work differently that Norton Desktop (i.e. does it make
posting documents and various things slower)

2) My corporation has deployed Norton for the desktops and we are not
providing external computer access to the SharePoint system, so we are not
sure if there are any other benefits other than further risk mitigation.

1) Norton antivirus  in this case will not work
differently from desktop  norton. If the size of your
file is large then it will increase te time to ulpload
it. But the increase os marginal.

2) If you are not using Sharepoint for external
access then i suggest you should not go for the
antivirus coz this will increase load on your server.
there ia s good srticle in MSDn for this. just search
for it and you will get it.
