Sharepoint Adminstration

Asked By: Angelo    Date: Mar 27    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 637

I am facing an issue with regards to back up.

Recently we handed over the server to the It guys in my company and they told us that we cannot use adminstrator id to logon to the server.

Is it possible that my windows nt login can be made administrator only for sharepoint so that i can take backup and can access sharepoint central administration.

Add yourself to the SharePoint admin group in Central Admin. That will give you total rights to the farm without being a member of the Administrators security group.

I removed myself from admin and added in the Share Point Admin Group in sharepoint  portal central  administration.

These are the issues i faced When i connect through remote desktop.

1)Not able to access  share point central admin.

2)When i try and open the GUI for backup  it throws a message.

The configuration database could not be found from this server. In order to backup any components you must first join this server  to a farm.

Ours is a single server and we are using sql server 2000.
We Have set the sql server to mixed authentication mode.
