Sharepoint Active Directory login - locking problem

Asked By: Kari    Date: Jun 28    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1872

I have my company's intranet deployed on Sharepoint Technologies.

The security of the Sharepoint instance is tied in with the Active
Directory.

To access any part of intranet the user needs to log in to
Sharepoint.

So that the user is not prompted repeatedly for login, I have added
the portal url in the security settings of the browser in the local
intranet zone.

Everything works fine and based on the windows login the browser does
not prompts for login screen and the user is validated by Sharepoint.

The network has wireless access also and I have had a weird problem
when the users were accessing the Sharepoint Portal via the wireless
network.

The problem was, their active directory user account got locked and
the browser started prompting them for login.

Looking at the security log of the Sharepoint server, I saw that it
had entries of bad username or password and then the entry of account
locked.

The user was not prompted for the login password screen when the
account got locked.

Has anyone experienced something similar to this or know what might
be causing this.
