My client has two public facing SharePoint 2010 sites – www.site-one.com and
www.site-two.com for the purpose of this discussion. These are available
internally using internal DNS and externally are protected by ISA 2006. Results
are fine internally, however, if one searches for content on www.site-one.com
that resides on www.site-two.com, the "www" gets stripped and the results point
to http://site-two.com/sub-site/Pages/resource.aspx. The content index shows the
content being crawled as having the "www" intact.
The content sources and Alternate Access Mappings also show ONLY the "www"
entries.
