SharePoint 2007 - can't open Word document

Asked By: Robin Henry         Date: Aug 27, 2006      Category: MOSS      Views: 1245

We're testing out the beta version of SharePoint 2007 for an internal
project. I have one user who isn't able to open Word documents -
nothing happens if she clicks on the document, or selects "Edit in
Microsoft Word" from the dropdown. She is not a new SharePoint user,
and has never had a problem opening documents in SharePoint 2003. Has
anyone ever seen this problem? Any suggestions?

Just an update to my earlier post... The user who's not able to open
documents is not getting the Internet Explorer popup box that says "You
are about to check out and edit..." when she clicks on the document, or
selects "Edit in Microsoft Word". However, even though nothing appears
to happen, the document  is locked for editing by her when I try to open
it.

Could this be a browser setting issue? A popup or adblocker problem?

Get her to hold down the ctrl key when she tries to on it to check

Also she can find the checked out document  in her sharepoint  folder in my documents.
