I am trying to run the Built-in SharePoint 2003 backup and restore feature (This
is from the Start Menu->All Programs->SharePoint Portal Server->SharePoint
Portal Server Backup and Restore), but I get prompted to install the SQL Server
2000 Client Tools. Since the SQL database backend is on another server I
installed the client tools and SP3 on this server and rebooted the system but I
everytime I try to launch the utility I get the same error. I get this same
error if I go to the command prompt and type in spsbackup.
My first question is this. Is this built in backup and restore utility all
inlcusive like msdmback was for SharePoint 2001 where I can restore everything?
I noticed that in this version I can backup individual portal sites as well not
just the entire install.
My next question is why I do I keep on getting prompted to install SQL Server
2000 Client Tools even though I have installed them.
