Sharepoint 2002

Asked By: Isabel Sparks         Date: Nov 11, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 288

I found this article that says Microsoft will release a new version of
Sharepoint Portal Server in 2002, does anybody have any details on what
this release will have or when can we expect it?
The only thing I can tell is that the web storage system is not going to
be Yukon (next generation SQL Server) based because it won't be ready
until 2003.

Anyone care to speculate?

I think this always been the case. Though, in most of what I've read the
enhancements will all be related to scalability and manageability (and I'm
sure more .Net stuff thrown at it too). I'd really like to check out Yukon
(SQL Server 2003/4) and how they are going to integrate it into Sharepoint,
Exchange, the filesystem, etc., etc.

Here is another article about the future of SPS which says it should be near
2003.
