Shared announcement web part

We have several child sites off of our mail sharepoint site (SBS2008). We have
one for each client using the URL https://mydomain.com/clientname. On the home
page for each client site is a list of docs etc for them. We want to add an
announcement web part to each client site showing upcoming info (holidays,
important outages etc). However we don't want to update each announcement list
on each client site individually with the same info.

Is it possible to create an announcement list on the parent sharepoint site and
share that with all the child sites so that we only have to update the one
announcement list and know that the changes will appear on all the child client
sites ?

Are all the client sites part of the same site collection?
If so, you can use a dataview web part.

do you have MOSS or WSS ?

In MOSS you have a Content Query Webpart (CQWP) which can do this. You have to
put a CQWP on each sub site configured to use the Annoncement List from the
parent site.

If WSS - use this free webpart and say thanks to Tim Dobrinski for sharing this
on web.
