How to share a web part in My Site with other users?

Asked By: Noah    Date: Oct 11    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 972

I am new to sharepoint server.

I want to share a web part with other users in My Site.

What i did is, I have added a web part in the "Shared View" of My
Site. The intension is, when other users go to My personal site
(public view of my personal site), they should see the web part
which I have added in the shared view. This way I want to share the
web part with other users.

But this is not happening. The other users are seeing the web parts
in their "Private view". Even I am seeing it in the "Private view"

Please help me, and tell me how to share a web part which i have
developed with other users in "My Site".

Are you an administrator on the sharepoint  site? If so, this is expected. For
administrators the "Shared View" of your Personal My site  site is a way to make
changes to all users  Personal My Sites (non-administrators do not see a Shared
view option). I don't believe there is any way to add a web  part to just your
own copy of your public My SIte - any web part  additions would appear on all
user's copies, since they all render from the same template.
