Several of my webmasters can no longer create pages

Date: May 29    Category: MOSS    Views: 519

Out of the blue yesterday (or maybe before) my folks get Access Denied when
trying to create new pages. This is on a MOSS2007 WCM external site. They are in
the correct groups. Their AD accounts seem fine. They have rights to do this on
multiple sites in our collection. They can edit, but cannot create.

Well it turns out nearly everyone could not create new pages. We had to
give Read Access to ALL users to the Master Pages Gallery. But never had to do
this in the past. Also the other site collections were unaffected. (We run a
City/County/Enterprise farm). Only mine (County) seemed to be spanked. I suspect
some network yobbo tweaked something.

Any chance you deleted the Style Resource Readers group? Or the NT
Authority/Authenticated Users group from within it? That could have done it.

Nope. We think someone at the Firewall vendor made a change. No idea. It works
giving reader rights to the Master Pages gallery to all contribs. Hopefully we
won't have any more surprises.
