Setting page metadata

Asked By: Palash    Date: Jan 03    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 5747

Does anyone have a method for setting page <meta> tags without unghosting the
page? I think that there is a way to do this programatically using javascript
and a CEWP, but haven’t got this working yet. Any ideas will be helpful.

You could create a web part that gets a reference to the HTMLHead (<Head> tag)
for the page  that the webpart is added to. Then add the metadata  to the
HTMLHead object. I've done this to add a custom CSS registration to the page.
I don't have the code handy, but it should work.

I hadn't explored this possibility. I suppose that the web part could be
built so that the user could add the meta tag values dynamically.
