Set an expiration date on list items in SPS2003

Asked By: Imran    Date: Oct 30    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 3837

I have an SPS2003 environment wherein a client is trying to set items
to expire in 30, 60, or 90 days after they've been posted in a list.
They envision this working much like a Announcement, where you can set
an Expires item.

I have tried adding a column called 'Expires' and then changing the
view but that's where we cannot see a good way to adjust the view
without having to change the greater than date every day.

Suggestions?

I tried selling them on setting an Expiration date  of less than
[Today], but they want to set  it to 30 days  after creation. Instead of
adding another field.

Working from memory...

Create a calculated column  that is Created date  + 30 days.

Set a filter on the view to include when the calculated column is
greater than today.
