I've got a MOSS site that I'm working with and we've put asp.net user
controls into some of the pages to allow users to work with some data
from an external SQL Server source. They're presented through a
SmartPart webpart. I'm wanting to use session state within some of
these user controls, just for handling some rather small coordination
features between the controls. We're talking about storing probably
20 small variables in session state.
Is is possible to allow these controls to use session state in this
way? Is there some explanation of how to enable it somewhere? I've
read some articles that talk about enabling session state within
SharePoint, but I'm not sure that they apply to my situation. They
warn of performance issues, but as this is not a very high-volume
site, I'm interested in testing it out anyway.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?
