SharePoint installs with Session functionality turned off by default. You need
to change the following lines in web.config to enable:

<add name="Session" type="System.Web.SessionState.SessionStateModule"/>
This line is commented out

<pages enableSessionState="true" enableViewState="true"
enableViewStateMac="true" validateRequest="false" />
Set the attributes to 'true' on this line

You can use Sessions in your asp.net code then.

Keep in mind, Session is turned off for performance and scalability reasons.
Make sure you understand all the implications of re-enabling this before you do
so.
