Service Unavailable

Asked By: Juan    Date: Jan 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1192

I had a perfectly working SPS2003 site. The network admins applied some patches
on this server with win 2003 and spps2003. When I launch either individual sites
or the admin site, they all come back with a page saying "Service Unavailable"

You need to check the Identity of the Application Pool. More likely the
username/password of the pool was changed

Go to IIS Manager

Select the server, click on +
expand the Application Pools, you will need to find out which
application Pool Sharepoint runs under (to do so go to the web
site, right click on the Sharepoint site  and select properties. On the
Home Directory Tab, take not of the application Pool

Select the application pool and right click, properties,

On the Identity Tab, check the username/password, make sure the
username/password is valid. for testing you can alway select the Network

Check the application pool's identity.
Give the proper identity in the application which can access sharepoint content
Restart the iis.
Now try to access the portal.
