Service pack 1 for WSS

Anyone experience that after installing SP1, everything gets blown to
pieces? I have done it on my dev box and I have to recreate my whole portal
site. I have to create a new config and content databases in order to have
it working.

Also, anyone know of a tool to create users in Active Directory from
different data sources. Rather than manually entering it for development
reasons, I would rather do it with a click of a button. Only reason I am
asking is that we are still on NT4 and there are no resources for AD here.
