"Send To:" Customization

Asked By: Bahadur    Date: Apr 20    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 658

We are trying to use "Send To:" to send a document from a department-level
document library to individual team-level libraries. For example, we want the
HR Library set up so when a user selects "Send To", they have the following

n Benefits

n Payroll

n WorkPlace Safety

n Existing Copies

n Other Location

n Record Center

n Etc....

From what it looks like, "Send To" can only be set up with ONE custom "send to"
location. Surely this cannot be a true limit! How can we set up to have more
than one custom location within one library?

You can only code one Send To entry in the Menu, however you can Send to as many
locations as you want using the general command on the menu. Once sent the
documents will remember where they are linked and can be updated automatically.
But you can only have one defined Send To location per document  library.

Sounds like you could easily hack something together with a choice field and
a workflow; thoughts?
