Selecting 'multiple' valued data with SharePoint Designer

I have using SharePoint Designer to create workflows for my WSS 3.0 sites.
Off late i observed that I DONT SEE all the Multiple valued data items in
designer.

For (e.g), In one of the list i have this Assigned To field which can have
'multiple' selection of people. Now when i want to send an E-mail to all of the
people listed in this data item, i dont see
it in the list of items in the designer. Is there any specific reason why i cant
do this designer? If there is a way that i can get to work with multiple
selection data fields, that would be GREAT.
