Searching only on the Words in Specific Fields

Asked By: Cherish    Date: May 25    Category: MOSS    Views: 895

Does anyone know how to customize/setting the searching in Sharepoint 2007 if I
want the searching is done only on the words in the specific fields we've
already set (the specified field was filled input when we upload in to document
library), not search the proper words in the content of the file?

I believe you can do this from Advanced Search page. Just add the properties you
want to be searched on in the metadata property mappings through Central Admin.
Perform a full crawl and then you will be able to search on the fields  from the
advanced search page.

Go into the properties of your Shared Service provider and create a scope
using the properties you wish to search by and then enable the scope in the
Site Collections where needed.
