Searching within pdf documents - MOSS 2007

Asked By: Robin Henry         Date: Aug 25, 2006      Category: MOSS      Views: 283

I am able to search pdf documents in MOSS 2007 but it is only
searching on the file name not within the pdf document. Does anyone
know how to get the search to search within pdf documents?

Yes. You need to install the adobe i-filter for .pdf file content to
be indexed.

This should help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555209/en-us

I have not found anything yet for MOSS2007 that allows full-text
indexing of .pdf docs.

I'm not so sure that the 6.0 i-filter will work the same way in
2007..

Download the adobe ifilter from their web site.

Install on index server and reindex.

I would go for v 5 of ifilter If I were you.
