Searching Public Folders protected by Form Based Authentication

Asked By: Karen Coleman         Date: Jun 01, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 226

We had set up our Sharepoint 2003 Portal Server; to search a public Folder on our 2003 Exchange Server and it was working for months. Then we decided to implemet Forms based authentication, on our server, as it suddenly stopped working. I found an article (
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825214) that sort of alludes to the fact that this type of set up is not supported, but I want to confirm this with others who may have tried this set up.

Anyone know for sure if this will not work.

We have tried implemented FBA. We came accross this issue too. We could get the search indexing working well, but lost some of the features of FBA.
In your FBA config, is anonymous access allowed on the website?
You might want to try enabling both anonymous access and Integrated authentication.
