Searching for individual documents in SPS2003

Asked By: Rozi Mathews         Date: Apr 06, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 198

In Sharepoint 2001 I used to be able to search for individual files
by using search partameters like *.pdf and it would return all files
with that extension. Sharepoint 2003 does not seem to work the same
way. Does it have the ability to search for individual files across
various document libraries?

If you create sub sites under the main portal, you must check the
checkbox to include in search. Otherwise if you don't check this box and
if you perform a search in the main portal, it will not search the sub
sites. The other thing is that if you are in a sub site and perform a
search, you will only be searching  within that sub site.
