Search in WSSv3

Asked By: Vaughn    Date: Nov 08    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 686

I hope someone can give me some light to the following
* In WSSv2 while in a document library when we conducted a search
it would return back whatever was found in that specific document
library which was what the client wanted
* In WSSv3 when we conduct the same search but it returns back
what it finds within the whole site which is not what the client needs

So, my question is if this is by design in both WSSv2 and WSSv3 and if
there is a way to have your search performed only within a specific
document library in WSSv3. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

When you do a search  in v3 there should be a dropdown next to the search box.
It will have two entries, "This list" and "this site." That lets you pick
between the two scopes.

I should have added something else though. Is it
possible to search  within a custom view in a document  library in WSSv3. You can
do that in WSSv2.

Oh sure, get me all excited with an easy question, then throw a hard one out.
I don't know of any way to search  in a custom view in v3, but I've never looked
for one.
