Search Service error in MOSS2007 portal

please help me to resolve the problem regarding Search services in MOSS2007.
In profile search result, error mesaage is,

The search request was unable to connect to the Search Service.

I checked in event viewer and got following warning----

"Retry of query machine 'm/c name' has failed with error: The semaphore timeout
period has expired. 0x80070079. It will be retried again in 900 seconds.
Component: c5f40688-0d1c- 4aa4-aaa3- 40d666dc0c80"
