Search service error

Asked By: Norma    Date: Jan 10    Category: MOSS    Views: 947

The search request was unable to connect to the Search Service.

I checked in event viewer and got following warning----

"Retry of query machine 'm/c name' has failed with error: The semaphore
timeout period has expired. 0x80070079. It will be retried again in 900 seconds.
Component: c5f40688-0d1c-4aa4-aaa3-40d666dc0c80"

Your best bet would be to make sure that the passwords are in sync.
If this is related to the new hot fix related to MOSS
there is an article on KB.

I hope it helps.

My source site collection was in B2TR version while destination
is in RTM. Is that the reason for not running of search  services.

May you please suggest me pointer/content where I may found the exact
step by step way to run search services/crawling.
