I was able to perform searches but it was only bringing back results from
certain sites eventhough I know there is content that should have shown up in
the results. I resetted all the crawled content and after I ran the full crawl,
it shows that it has indexed over 5700 items but when I view the scope, it shows
0. Now I can't do any searches. I currently have 2 FEs and 1 Index. The 2 FEs
are used for searching only. I also noticed the index files are not propogated
to the 2 FEs. I even created a new scope  with the All Content rule and still get
the results of not available. When I search  using this scope, I get the message:
Scope in your query does not exist. I don't know where to begin to start

If the index isn't being propagated then check to make sure that your index
server is not also set to function as a query server in your search  settings. If
this is the case, the index will not propagate to any other servers in the farm.
Also verify that your front ends are indeed set to act as query servers.
