I've downloaded a web part that makes use of document templates in
creating document straight from the SPS adshboard site. But the
problem is when I try searching for documents, returned results also
includes templates uploaded. Is there any way to limit search results
so as not to return templates. I've tried seperating them by folders
and excluded the path of the folder from the content sources manager
so as not to include them in the index. But it doesn't work.

I think you can do this by removing the file extensions from the
search scope. For example if your word templates  are *.dot files
then removing this file type from the search  scope should stop them
being picked up by the search.

To do this go to the workspace in Windows explorer. Navigate to the
Management \ Content Sources Folder and double-click additional
settings. On the form that opens click File Types and remove *.dot
etc files as appropriate.
