Search Problems (not funtioning within Sites)

Can someone assist me in getting "Search" to function on Sites. We've
moved a portal, using the "SPPS Data Backup and Restore" utility, to a
new server. Everything "appears" to be fine except "Searh" only
funtions on the portal homepage. Performing a search within the sites
give no results and the suggestion to search from the portal homepage.

Search in a WSS SPWeb (what you are calling a site) is scoped to that
site only. It does not use Portal Server's search.
