Search is not working through TAMe juction

Asked By: Staci    Date: Sep 29    Category: MOSS    Views: 569

The Search works without TAMe integration but when accessed through TAMe it

Step (1) http://sw999:49990/default.aspx?brand=abc

Step(2) Click on Search..

Step(3) Search for say "oil"

With TAMe doesn't matter internally or externally(DDD)

Step (1) (Internal) https://infoxxx.w99/jctxxx/default.aspx?brand=abc

Step (1) (External) https://www.dealerxxxx.net/jctxxx/default.aspx?brand=abc

Step(2) Click on Search..

Step(3) Search for say "oil"

NOTE: This is Forms extension site. i.e. Original Windows auth site. Then
created a Forms auth extension. Though Search works for this Forms authe site
when accessed directly but doesn't when accessed through TAMe

NOTE: TAMe - IBM / Tivoli Access Manager / Policy Director

Any help will be appreciated.

Did you contact this 3rd party vendor for support?

We use TAM as well. However, from your URLs, it looks like you are using a
"normal" junction. This results in an "asymmetric" URL; in other words, the
client browser sees a path like hostname/junction/page whereas sharepoint sees
the request as anotherhostname/page. SharePoint will not work correctly in that
situation. TAM will attempt to remap URLs in the traffic, but some URLs are
encoded in such a way that TAM won't pick them up.

You can only use SharePoint with "root" junctions or "virtual host" junctions,
which remap the host name but leave the rest of the URL unmodified between
SharePoint and the browser.
