Search is not working

Asked By: Mohini    Date: Feb 12    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 10154

My SharePoint and DB server are in different machines.

I am getting the following crawl error.

Access is denied. Check that the Default Content Access Account has access to
this content, or add a crawl rule to crawl this content. (The item was deleted
because it was either not found or the crawler was denied access to it.)

I checked the database server and noticed the permissions of the default access
account are correct.

I have tried with adding cwawl rule also.

Are you using Forms Authentication? You'll need to extend your app with an
NTLM auth site (though I hear one of the newer updates makes this
unnecessary).

If that's not the issue, then have you checked  the Event Log for any
relevant Access Denied errors that might shed more light on the situation?

you can load the FBA fix for search  or load the
infrastructure update (be careful and research this one first)

The default  application is running with Windows authetication. This is extended
with another site and configured forms authetication.
I didn't see any access  denied error  in the log files. I see this error in Event
viewer and crawl  logs.
