Search not working

Asked By: Joshua    Date: Mar 03    Category: MOSS    Views: 800

I changed the default noise words for MOSS 2007 search to add more words and
then do a full crawl again, however, some of the words that I put there such as
who, which, where were still being search or index. I changed the following

Folder: F:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\12.0\Data\Config
1. noiseeng.txt
2. noiseenu.txt
3. noiseneu.txtg

I also changed these files in this folder:
F:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\12.0\Data\Applications\{guid}\Config

Any idea, what did I missed?

I already found out why.
There are other directories/folders where this need to be defined. They are also
in: F:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\12.0\Data\Office Server\Config and
F:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\12.0\Data\Office

When an SSP is first configured, the thesaurus and noise  word files are copied
from "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\12.0\Data\Office Server\Config\"
to "%Index File Location%\SSPNAME\GUID\Config\" on the index server. Then, when
adding a query server to the farm, the files are copied from "%Index File
Location%\SSPNAME\GUID\Config\" to the query server's index location, but only
at Query Share Creation time. Should you need to modify these files, all
locations should be identical.
