Search issue - content can't be crawled - "access denied"

Asked By: Conrad Mueller         Date: May 22, 2008      Category: MOSS      Views: 179

Has anyone run into this issue with MOSS search.
I can't get the search to crawl the content.
In the search log it shows...
"Access is denied. Check that the Default Content Access Account has access to
this content,
or add a crawl rule to crawl this content. (The item was deleted because it was
either not
found or the crawler was denied access to it.)"

The access account is a reader on the sites. I am using windows authentication.
The content
sources are defined correctly.
It also denies access when I use the administrator account in the content access
account.
I don't have any crawl rules set (though i tried in adding an "include" rule for
the main site)

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might be overlooking?
