Search in Calculated Fields?

Asked By: Gopal    Date: Dec 01    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1523

Is it possible to include Calculated Fields in a search? I want to
have a Unique ID in a Column and be able to search for that ID. It
seems that Sharepoint does not search the ID column or Calculated

Can anyone provide a suggestion or work around?

I found a way to add a form web part and search  a single list by the
ID number. It is just a better way of filtering on a list...

Does anyone know of a more elaborate way? I would love to be able to
include list Unique ID Numbers in a site search.

In ordinary us of Indexing, you have to "publish" custom properties to
the index server. I expect you have to do that is WSS, also. I haven't
gotten so far as to get a site going yet, but that is the direction you
should start looking.
