Saving a file to Sharepoint - New Folder Option

When saving a document to your ordinary drive, you get the option (via MS Windows XP) to create a new folder before you save a document.

When saving a new document to the portal, you can not create a new folder on the fly as you are saving your document. The new folder button has been greyed out, or disabled.

Does anyone know a way to turn this back on?
