save site collection as template

I have a site collection, under it I have subsites. I want to save my
sitecollection as a template. I found this link and it said to do
by "save site as template". I did that, create new site collection by
using the template. However, when save it as template, it only save
the top-level of the site collection and none of my subsites and also
my content types didn't get copy over. Does anyone know how to save
site collection as template with content type.

Even once i faced the same problem without understanding the difference between
Creating a BASIC WEB PAGE
SITES AND WORKSPACES
AND WEBPART PAGE

TO SOLVE UR PROBLEM
1)CREATE A NEW Sites and Workspaces
2)AND FROM THERE CREATE A DOCUMENT LIBRARY TO CREATE A WEBAPRT PAGE
3) add all the required pages under the subsites selecting the document library

now take this as a template and restore it any where required.
Doing this would solve ur problem.
