Running: SharePoint Portal Server 2001 on Windows 2000 Server Family

If I want to deploy SPS into a Domain, do I have to log on to the computer running Windows 2000 Server as a domain administrator during the SPS installation process?

I'm having difficulties during my deployment, and I still don't know what could be the problem.. I realy need your guidance..
