RSVP Capability Via Sharepoint

Asked By: Clifton    Date: Jun 04    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 3447

We have a lot of events and meetings and we are looking to use
SharePoint to track who plans on attending.

Is their a capability in SharePoint of creating an event and tracking,
by person, who has RSVP'd for it?

You can't seem to do it via the calendar. I've thought of using a
survey, but that sems a bit clunky.

Basically, I'd like to set up the event (just like a calendar event)
with a list of attendeees, send out email to them with the link back
to SharePoint so they can RSVP. The page they get should have a simple
Yes/No for whether or not they will be attending.

The user that creates the event should be able to see the list of
users who have responded with 'Yes'.

So this would work like www.evite.com

One possibility is to incorporate a meeting workspace with the event. When you
create the new meeting request in Outlook, link  it into a meeting workspace in
SharePoint (one of the web parts tracks the attendees and whether they have
accepted/declined). The meeting workspace could also contain the agenda,
presentations, etc.
