RSS in sharepoint

Asked By: Ezequiel    Date: Apr 03    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 739

i just thought of implementing RSS feeds to particular lists. For
example say for daily news with last 4 items added recently. Can
somebody tell me how to do it. Is there any third party webparts
involved? if so please recommend me a good solution to implement them.

Do you mean you want RSS feeds  dumped IN TO a list, or you want to extract list
data as an RSS feed?

You can easily receive RSS feeds using the built-in XML web part and format it
using an XSLT desiend for the RSS format.

If you want to dump RSS feeds into a list, you will probably need to write some
.Net code that retreives the RSS feed into either a DataSet or an XML document
object, then use the SharePoint object model to write to the list.
