Restoring deleted site

Asked By: Jeet    Date: Mar 04    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1489

I went stupid and deleted the virtual site for a WSS site I was
maintaining. I deleted it from IIS6 only. Is there any way to recover
the site? I'm sure the data is still in the configuration and content
databases. Does anybody have a clue how I might do this?

Not sure about this, since I've never gone stupid in that particular way ;-) but
you should be able to recreate the website in IIS, then "extend" it in WSS
admin, connecting to an existing rather than new config/content database. I
would think the procedure would be the same as moving a virtual  server.
