I have a server (server a) on domain (domain a). I have another server (serverb) on domain (domain b). I want to restore the backup file from server a ontoserver b. Both servers have the same configuration (windows 2000 w/sp 4 and spsw/sp 1).Does anybody know of any issues restoring the backup file from one domain ontoanother domain?
One thing is to watch out for the user ids and groups. Last time I triedto restore to another server if the ids and groups were not accessiblethen SPS appeared to apply no security. I ran into this with localsecurity ids on a test machine. Since the user ids were not known to thenew machine SPS it appeared that SPS fell back to Everyone. You mightlook at the import/export tools. It will be slower, but it creates a xmlmanifest which you can tweak by hand before importing.
I was able to restore from one server (domain a) onto another server(domain b) and I was able to reconfigure the security. But now mysubscriptions are not working. I get a Script Execution Error. Doesanybody know how I can recover the subscriptions for all the users?
In addition to the subscription problem below, whenever I click on anyof the categories, I get the "famous" dashboard error.Can somebody please help me with these two problems?
