Restore WSS 30 to new server

  Asked By: Cherish Langley         Date: Feb 10, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 170

I have inherited a WSS 3.0 deployment that I would like to upgrade to
Foundations 2010 and then up to Sharepoint 2010.

However, I would like to start by bringing WSS 3.0 up on a test server and
import my present content database.

The goal is so that I can see what my present data will look like in
Foundations, as well as see what I am to expect with the upgrade.

Is there a whitepaper or process that I can look at that will walk me
through the steps of setting WSS30 up on the test server and then bringing
my content database in?
