Restore a WSS 3 backup to a MOSS server

Asked By: Tracie Bryan         Date: Dec 14, 2008      Category: MOSS      Views: 596

I am trying to restore a site that was created in WSS 3.0 to a MOSS 2007 server.

I get this error:

Your backup is from a different version of Windows SharePoint Services and
cannot be restored to a server running the current version. The backup file
should be restored to a server with version '12.0.0.6219' or later.

It means your WSS server  was running a newer version than your MOSS is,
and restored must be done to a server at the same version or newer.
'12.0.0.6219' is the version number for Service Pack 1.
