Only today i started. Backup a SPS SP1 server and restore it to a SP2 server.
Bad news: it seems not to work. I get the following error in the application
log:

An error occurred while restoring the application. The application may be in an
inoperable state.

Context: SharePointPortalServer Application

Details:
Backup and restore for SharePoint Portal Server cannot be completed
because the backup image is from a server using a version of SharePoint Portal
Server that is different from the version installed on this server. You must
back up this server to a server using the same version of SharePoint Portal
Server. (0x80040db3)


Funny thing is that the source that generates the error is Microsoft Search.
I think there is nothing more to be sayed.
I didn’t go to deep with investigation, i’ll go now to play basketball; keep
you informed anyway in the feature.
